Forecast scenarios

Set up a better case and a worse case beside your base forecast, adjust any line, and compare them side by side.

Base and named scenarios

Every forecast has a Base scenario. Manage Scenarios adds your own, such as a better case, a worse case or a conservative plan, each with a name and a color. Start a new one from scratch or copy one you have.

Each scenario keeps its own KPI assumptions and its own adjustments. The CapEx schedule, your loans and your distributions are shared by every scenario.

Adjusting a scenario

Scenario Adjustments, on the income statement forecast:

  • Quick presets: Bull (revenue 10% above budget, cost of sales 5% below, operating expenses 5% above, for growth) or Bear (revenue 10% below budget, cost of sales 5% above, operating expenses held). Use one as a starting point.
  • Section multipliers: scale revenue, cost of sales, operating expenses, or other income and expenses as a whole.
  • Per-line overrides: for any line, a multiplier, a custom percentage, a fixed amount, or hold it flat or zero it out. A line's override wins over its section's multiplier.

Comparing

Use the Scenarios filter to show the scenarios you want side by side in the forecast tables, and choose which to include when you export.

Your budget has scenarios of its own. See Budget scenarios and presets.
