Budget scenarios and presets
Keep more than one version of the year's budget, compare them side by side, and save the targets you reuse.
What a scenario is
A complete budget for the year with its own targets: a conservative plan and a stretch plan, say. Pick the one you're looking at under Scenario in the settings panel.
Creating one
From the scenario menu:
- New Blank Scenario: start fresh.
- Copy from Scenario: start from one you have and change what's different.
- New from Preset: start from targets you saved earlier.
The same menu lets you Rename a scenario, Set as Default (the one that opens first), or Delete Scenario.
Presets
A preset is a set of targets you can reuse, such as "Conservative" or "Heavy Q4". Save as Preset saves the scenario's targets; Apply Preset puts a preset's targets on the scenario you're in; Manage Presets renames or removes them.
Comparing scenarios
Choose Compare Scenarios to see them side by side. In Budget vs Actual, you can also split the chart by scenario.
Your forecasts have scenarios of their own. See Forecast scenarios.
