Consolidated statements
Bring a parent and its subsidiaries together, entity by entity or as one, with eliminations.
Two views
- Consolidating statements show a column for each entity, then the eliminations, then the consolidated total.
- Consolidated statements show the group as one.
Both are available for the balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement. Choose which entities to include; the parent is always included.
Which companies are included
Subsidiaries linked to the parent with data shared for consolidation. Where the parent owns less than 100%, the noncontrolling interest is calculated for you, and ownership through a chain of companies is followed.
Eliminations cover intercompany receivables and payables, intercompany revenue and expenses, and the parent's investment in each subsidiary.
Linking companies
Company owners and admins link companies under Settings → Relations:
- Subsidiary, Investment or Common ownership
- Link a company already on Ask Lou: its owner or admin approves the link, with or without sharing data
- Request a new company to set one up under yours
Only subsidiary links with shared data are consolidated. Investment and common-ownership links record the relationship.
